Get ready for a week of classic Bergen vibes: a mix of showers, clouds, and some much-appreciated sunshine. Here’s your detailed forecast plus what to wear — and some local tips so you can make the most of your days, rain or shine.
Monday (Sep 22)
Weather: Variable clouds with showers
High / Low: ~ 11 °C / 4 °C (≈ 51 °F / 39 °F)
What to wear:
Waterproof jacket or raincoat
Warm sweater or fleece underneath
Jeans or trousers, water-resistant shoes
Umbrella or rain hat
Local tip: A wet Bergen day is perfect for exploring Bryggen — the UNESCO-listed wharf. Duck into the narrow alleyways, small shops, and cafés. Warm up with a cinnamon bun (“skillingsbolle”) at Godt Brød.
Tuesday (Sep 23)
Weather: Partly sunny
High / Low: ~ 14 °C / 5 °C (≈ 57 °F / 41 °F)
What to wear:
Light jacket or windbreaker
Long-sleeve shirt or light sweater
Comfortable jeans or pants
Scarf for the chillier morning/evening
Local tip: Take the Fløibanen funicular up Mount Fløyen. The partly sunny skies will give you great views over the city and fjords. Bring a thermos of coffee and sit by the viewpoint benches for the true Bergen vibe.
Wednesday (Sep 24)
Weather: Mainly cloudy
High / Low: ~ 15 °C / 6 °C (≈ 60 °F / 44 °F)
What to wear:
Midweight sweater
Light jacket (windproof recommended)
Pants and closed shoes
Local tip: A good day to wander Bergen Fish Market (Fisketorget). Try some fresh shrimp or smoked salmon and then walk along the harbor. Clouds don’t spoil the atmosphere — Bergen is charming even without the sun.
Thursday (Sep 25)
Weather: Rather cloudy
High / Low: ~ 15 °C / 7 °C (≈ 59 °F / 44 °F)
What to wear:
Sweater with a light to midweight coat
Walking shoes (bring a small umbrella just in case)
Local tip: Head indoors to one of Bergen’s excellent museums. The KODE Art Museums house works by Edvard Munch and many others. A perfect cultural escape for a cloudy day.
Friday (Sep 26)
Weather: Sunny and delightful
High / Low: ~ 17 °C / 8 °C (≈ 62 °F / 46 °F)
What to wear:
Long-sleeve shirt or blouse
Light sweater for morning
Light jacket optional mid-day
Sunglasses & comfortable walking shoes
Local tip: The sun is out — take advantage! Go hiking on Mount Ulriken (the highest of Bergen’s seven mountains). The views are spectacular, and the cable car makes it easy even if you don’t want to hike the whole way. Pack a picnic and enjoy the rare warm rays.
✨ Bergen reminder: The weather can change quickly here. Even if the forecast looks good, always carry a small umbrella or packable rain jacket in your bag.
