If you're wandering through the charming streets of Bergen, Norway, don't miss a chance to stop at Espresso House. This café offers a welcoming space to unwind, recharge, and enjoy delicious treats. During a recent visit, I tried their latte and bacon & egg sandwich roll. Here’s my experience!

The Atmosphere

Stepping into Espresso House, you’re welcomed by the rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee. The décor is inviting, blending comfortable seating with a trendy vibe. It feels like a cozy retreat after a day of exploring Bergen’s stunning sights.

The soft sounds of chat create a lovely atmosphere. You can easily settle into a chair, whether you’re catching up with friends or enjoying a quiet moment. The ambiance makes it a great spot to relax. Usually full off students and travellers, it was unusually quiet on an early wet Saturday Morning.

The Latte

Let’s talk about the latte. Served in a beautiful ceramic mug, it was pure comfort. The barista perfectly frothed the milk, creating a delightful foam on top that made for a visually appealing drink. I always have mine extra hot as i like hot coffee and this was pretty good.

With the first sip, I experienced a wonderful blend of rich coffee flavor and smooth milk. It wasn't too sweet, allowing the quality of the beans to really shine—a mark of excellence for any coffee shop. I could easily see myself making this a regular stop!

The Bacon & Egg Sandwich Roll

The bacon & egg sandwich roll unfortunately didnt match the latte's high standard. Although the toasted outside was good, it was cold in the middle. I did ask for it to be heated twice before they served it but i guess they only did this once. Ive had these before in different locations and always cold in the middle so now i ask for a double toast. The food round the edges though were perfect.

It was also pretty bland and needs some Ketchup or brown sauces to accompany it. A little dissapointing especially when the latte was so good. But i guess the latte is brewed fresh unlike the re heated sandwich.

Recommendation to Visit

My experience at Espresso House in Bergen was genuinely satisfying. The cozy atmosphere and high-quality latte, despite the poor bacon & egg sandwich roll, made it a delightful spot to take a break.

If you appreciate a decent coffee Espresso House should be on your list for your next trip too

LITTLE TIP

I use this normally for takeaway coffee as i have the app so its easy to order and pay in the app, and just walk in and collect during rush hour in the mornings.

For a good coffee and a quick relax espresso house torgallmenningen is ok. Its a big place with many more seats upstairs. The coffee was good so i give it an 8/10 overall.

There are better local coffee places but for speed and basic coffee then you cant go wrong.
